When I started my content marketing agency, Hunter & Scribe, I made a key marketing mistake when speaking to potential clients.

My mistake was to be passive; to present clients with a list of options and then leave them to decide.

It took me a while to realise that people didn’t want to be left alone; they wanted me to guide them, because they didn’t have my knowledge.

So now, when I speak to a potential client, I don’t act like a follower; I act like a leader. I not only present clients with options; I present them with recommendations.

My clients don’t see it as pushy. They see it as helpful.
