I don’t know what industry you’re in, but I know this for a fact – your industry has acronyms that make sense to insiders like you but which confuse outsiders. 

How do I know? Because every industry uses acronyms. 

You work in your industry every day, so those acronyms make perfect sense to you. But your customers don’t know what you know, so they don’t understand those acronyms. 

Would you ever switch from English to Russian when speaking to customers? Of course not, because it would confuse and alienate them.

Well, your acronyms have the same effect, because those acronyms are like a foreign language for your customers. So stop using them.
