One big mistake agents make when they write property listings is to use clichés.

“Renovator’s delight”, “Location, location, location”, “This property won’t last long, so move fast” – these phrases have been used so many times that they no longer impress buyers.

The reason we use clichés in our writing or our conversation is so we don’t have to think. But if you’re writing listings without putting any thought into them, they’re not going to be persuasive.

So whenever you notice yourself using a cliché, force yourself to think of a new way to express that thought. It will require more effort, but it will make your writing more effective.
