When you finish writing a property listing, give it a quick read and then ask yourself this question: “If I was a buyer, would this listing make me want to attend the open home?”

If the answer is yes, congratulations. If the answer is no, cast a critical eye over your writing and ask yourself why you don’t believe it’s persuasive.

Chances are, it will be for one or both of these reasons:

  • The writing is hard to read
  • You’re focusing on the features of the property, rather than the benefits

If that’s the case, the solution is obvious:

  • Put in the effort to make your writing easier to read
  • Edit the text so it focuses on the benefits rather than the features
