Have you heard of the 1-9-90 rule?
The rule suggests:
- 90% of people on a social network are just observers, doing nothing but lurking
- 9% of people are a little bit more active; they like, share and comment on posts
- But only 1% of people create content
If you’re using social media for business marketing purposes, you need to be in that 1%. You need to create interesting, helpful relevant content that your potential customers and referral partners care about.
Doing that will establish you as a trusted authority figure. And that will make people want to do business with you.
