But a lot of small businesses don’t realise that there’s a second benefit to using hashtags – which is to ensure you remain on-message with your marketing.

For example, these daily videos always feature the #smallbusiness and #marketing hashtags, which forces me to think of topics relevant to those hashtags.

That, in turn, means that I keep providing marketing advice to small business owners, day after day after day after day after day – a perfect strategy given that my clients are small business owners.
