I’ve got a tip that will help you write better property listings. This is a tip I learned years ago, when I became a journalist, and it immediately made me a better writer.

The tip is OTPS – one thought per sentence.

What that means is you should present one idea at a time. After you’ve presented that idea, insert a full-stop, and then present another idea.

There are two benefits from presenting one thought per sentence:

  • Buyers will find it easier to read your listings
  • You’ll find it easier to write those listings

The next time you encounter writing that is confusing, chances are it will be because the writer packed multiple thoughts into their sentences.
