But before giving you that important information, let me tell you about a thing called an ‘open loop’. 

An open loop is where you get told half a story or half a fact, which leaves you hungry to hear the other half. 

TV shows do this really well – they tease you with content that will appear later in the episode or in the following episode, which makes you want to watch so you can close the loop. 

That’s why open loops can work well in headlines – because they make buyers want to read the listing to solve the mystery that you created in the headline.
