Have you ever connected with someone on social media and then immediately received a pitch from them through a direct message?
Every person I’ve ever spoken to about these cold pitches has told me two things: they feel annoyed whenever they receive one of these cold pitches and they never buy anything as a result of these cold pitches.
Chances are, you’ve had the same reaction to cold pitches. Yet it’s also possible you send the same sort of cold pitches to other people.
If so, you need to stop, because they’re annoying and ineffective.
Instead, you need to invest time and energy in building relationships with people on social media.
That gives you the chance to make a warm pitch to them in the future … or to eliminate the need for pitching because you attract them to your business.
