Do you dislike shifting from your preferred method of communication to an annoying method? Well, so do your customers!
So don’t force them to do that, otherwise they’ll feel frustrated and they’ll resent you for trying to control them.
Make it easy for them to spend money with you by communicating with them how they want to be communicated with.
