Have you noticed the connection between relationships and sales?

It’s easy to persuade a family member or an old friend to buy from you, because they know, like and trust you.

That’s why it’s so important for you to constantly work on building new relationships and nurturing existing relationships. And that’s why relationships are a form of marketing.

Don’t make the mistake of trying to rush the relationship or turn it into a cynical, mercenary experience. Instead, take the time to get to know the person, without any agenda.

Building a strong relationship might take months or even years; but that’s fine, because you’’ll be following the same process with lots of people and you know that marketing is all about playing the long game.

Once the relationship is strong and the day comes when that person feels like they need the sort of product you sell, you’ll be the first person they think of.
