“Business is a bit slow at the moment, so we’d love you to give us some money.”
Does that sound like a good marketing slogan to you?
Obviously, it’s terrible. But that’s the message many small businesses send their customers in their marketing.
Not directly, of course. But clearly enough for customers to understand.
‘Give us money’ marketing is where a business pushes for a sale without offering the customer anything in return, which is why customers get the message – however unconsciously – that the business just wants their money.
Instead, you need to put out marketing that focuses entirely on your customers, and their needs and their problems.
If you do enough of that kind of marketing, customers will eventually give you money in return.
