Wondering how often you should blog? My advice is to publish at least one new blog per week.
On any given day, potential customers are secretly visiting your website to research your business – and regular blogging is a great way to prove your expertise and professionalism.
So what, then, should you write about in your blogs?
Here are five ideas…
1. Solve problems
Your customers have problems. And they’re willing to pay to have them solved. First, though, they want you to prove you understand their problems and have the expertise to solve them. The more time you spend discussing these problems, the more they’ll be convinced.
2. Answer questions
Your customers are confused, because they don’t have your years of experience. They want someone to answer their questions, and to do so in a way that doesn’t make them feel humiliated. The more questions you answer, the more trust you’ll build with your customers.
3. Bust myths
No matter what industry you’re in, your customers will have misconceptions about what you do. These false beliefs can be damaging, because they can make customers question your value and integrity. The more myths you bust, the more of the right kind of customers you’ll attract.
4. Share news
You know those friends who talk constantly about politics or sport or fashion? And you know how they seem like experts as a result? You need to do the same thing, but with your industry. The more news you share, the more knowledgeable and passionate your customers will think you are.
5. Analyse trends
What are the big issues sweeping through your industry? How is it being impacted by technology? Where will it be in 10 years’ time? Your customers are dying to know. The more big-picture thinking you do, the more they’ll regard you as a thought leader.
P.S. In case you didn’t notice, I solved a problem and answered a question with this blog.
